Job Title: Mental Health Therapist (1099 Contractor)

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in traditional therapy modalities and a keen interest in or experience with equine assisted therapy. This role involves working directly with clients in individual and group settings, utilizing both conventional therapeutic techniques and equine assisted interventions to promote mental health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions incorporating equine assisted therapy as appropriate.

  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clients’ needs and goals.

  • Collaborate with our team of equine specialists, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive care.

  • Monitor and document clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all therapeutic interactions.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training in equine assisted therapy and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent in Minnesota.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.

  • Certification or training in equine assisted therapy (PATH, EAGALA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

  • Strong clinical skills with experience in evidence-based therapeutic practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Passion for working with clients in an outdoor, nature-based setting.

Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Equine Specialist to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with horses and a passion for integrating equine assisted activities into therapeutic settings. This role involves managing and caring for our therapy horses, assisting in therapeutic sessions, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both clients and horses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the care, training, and management of therapy horses to ensure they are well-prepared for therapeutic sessions.

  • Assist therapists in conducting equine assisted therapy sessions, ensuring the safety of clients and horses.

  • Evaluate and select horses suitable for therapy work, based on temperament and behavior.

  • Develop and implement horse care plans, including feeding, exercise, grooming, and health monitoring.

  • Educate clients and staff on proper horse handling and safety protocols.

  • Maintain and manage equine facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment.

  • Collaborate with therapists to integrate equine activities into treatment plans effectively.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training in equine assisted therapy and related fields.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working with horses, including training, handling, and care.

  • Certification or training in equine assisted therapy (PATH, EAGALA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of horse behavior, health, and welfare.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and being outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Passion for working in a therapeutic setting and contributing to clients’ mental health and wellness.
